Do you know where I can find the engine number on the GT550?

Re: Engine Number
I saw a reply earlier today and now it's gone!
It said the number is on the front of the engine near the exhaust outlets. The only number I can see is one on the l/h pot and doesn't look like an engine number.

Sorry about the missing reply. Had a battle with the computer..........And the computer won
The engine number is locatet on the front engine mount. Stampet in the crankcase, just over the front engine mount bolt.
Itīs sometimes difficult to see becourse of the center exhaust pipe, and a lot of dirt.
Hope it can helps.

Re: Engine Number
Thanks Leif,
I actually found it after I took the engine out yesterday. I found out the engine in my 1975 registered frame is a 1976 model.
I appreciate the help though.
