Show off your bike HERE!!!
Hey guys. Here she is just back from paint and with a reupholstered seat. A little pricey, but you got to do what you got to do. Besides, my local classic bike show is coming up and I want her to be gawked at if nothing else.
I treid to resize it to get the whole bike in, but my computer skills are lacking. . .
Oh well. Thanks for the help Clive.
Lets get something goin here. Lets see your best shot of your 550 or whatever size you've got.

Thanks for the compliments. They may be money pits, but they sure are worth it.

The guy we hired to do it came up with that on his own. We asked him to just do it plain, but he thought it would be to boring and added the stitching. it turned out great though and goes really well with the bike.

It runs very well. Its a little slow off the start, but my buddys going to help me adjust the points soon which should help out a lot. I also need to go through the carbs. Im a little apprehensive about it because it would be the first time Ive ever gone through any carbs. But I have the repair manual which basically shows exactly how to do it. Ill get to it eventually. . .

Kyle, great job so far. That seat is outstanding! How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking? You'll knock 'em dead at the show. The carbs are pretty straight-forward. I recommend you get some egg-cartons or little plastic divided bins or something and put each piece you take apart in each compartment. It makes keeping track of the little parts easier. Also, when you take the floats out, shake them gently next to your ear and see if there's anything inside. Two of mine had gotten some gas inside which didn't allow them to 'float' like they should. Bikebandit has them if you need replacements.
I suppose this is a good place to show mine off as well, so... here's the '73 before...
and in progress. I hope to have more pics of more progress soon, but there might be too much beer in the way this weekend!

Nice bike Tim. The seat was about $100 USD. My bike runs great right now so im not going to mess with the carbs for the moment. But thanks for the advice. Looks like you're gettin into yours pretty good though. Hope to see the progress as you go.

The orange one is my parts bike. It's a 1972 gt380 which is currently frozen.
The black one (the tank is off right now) is my current restoration project bike. It is a 1974 with 8,000 miles on it! Thats how many miles I rode on my FZ last summer!

Nice resto. I'm glad you went with the 74. No offense to the early models, but I like the engine styling on the later models better.
