GT550 mods

Hi guys...been a while since i logged in but i wanted to share this with you and get some thoughts....on ebay at the moment is this 300252931827 cut and paste this item number into ebay search...but you know that dont you.....

Interesting mods....i got in touch with the guy and he has told me the forks, clocks, and swing arm and wheels are off a 600 Bandit.....

Now i know your gonna say thats taking it well away from standard spec...But...we all also know that these bikes handle like a ship in a storm, and stop like a snail in an oil slick, so i would imagine with up to date forks, brakes, and swing arm it would really improve things, now i no it would take some of the nostalga away from riding retro, but it sure would be nice to give one of these a good thrashing and know that A. you could stop and B. that it might just go round a fast bend without making your trousers brown......

Evidently ebay does not maintain expired listings for very long. I was only mildly curious about those mods, anyway. My GT550M is all original except for tyres, battery, and seat cover, and that's fine with me I like it just the way it is.

Totaly agree, was thinking of playing with mine but.......saw sense, if it went round corners and stopped when you told it it just would`nt be a GT550.....and it sure as hell would`nt be so much fun........keep them origanal, and have fun on it...just hope we get some decent weather soon so i can get her out of the garage...
