Hey fellas! I was on the old GT550.com every now and then, and its been a while, so I wanted to introduce myself/reintroduce myself.
About two years ago I was fortunate enough to come accross a very nice 1975 GT550 which at the time, I knew nothing about. It didnt take but a couple miles for me to fall in love with it. Only a few short months of owning it and riding it, some stupid BIT%! decided she wanted to plow into me with her car and so the "very niceness" of bike turned into very bent and banged upness. I ponder what to do, and CAFE was the only answer. With much work and searching for parts, and about 3 months worth of on and off work on the bike, the plan came together...
It started with a bit of a vision
The tank was pretty banged up, so had to be sanded and fixed
Found the bars I was looking for and kept moving forward
Hacked the ass end off and relocated the shocks
Fixed the tank, still have some painting to do of course
Is that an expansion chamber, I believe it is!!!
She made it to her first show, in front of my brothers '59 Edsel
